Birmingham Black Barons American Needle Hat
The Birmingham Black Barons played professional baseball in the Negro Leagues from 1920 - 1960. The team was organized in 1920 for the inaugural season of the Negro Southern League which operated as a minor league. They played in the league for 3 years before making the switch to the larger Negro National League which operated as the major league. A notable star to play for the Black Barons was star pitcher Satchel Paige, who led the team to the second half pennant in 1927.
